Is the Fertility Booster safe and recommended to take during the TWW?Updated 4 months ago
Our clinical experts believe there is no reason to believe that taking Fertility Booster during the two-week wait is problematic. Studies have shown that N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is safe and may be beneficial during pregnancy. This ingredient has the strongest safety evidence. Regarding Ashwagandha, we considered several pieces of evidence: 1. We use a specific type of Ashwagandha extract (KSM-66) that has been granted GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) status. The dose in Fertility Booster also contains 200-300 times less ashwagandha than the No Observed Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL). Lastly, in parts of India and beyond, Ayurvedic practitioners have been recommending small amounts of Ashwagandha in pregnancy today and throughout history. While this last point is not hard science, it does give us one data point to consider. So, while we believe that Fertility Booster ingredients are safe during the two-week wait, we recommend discontinuing once pregnancy is confirmed. Of course, always defer to your health practitioner’s recommendations, as they know you and your health needs best.
